The South African Reserve Bank acts as an issuing agent of the National Treasury and is authorised to conduct bond and Treasury bill auctions.

Fixed-rate bond auctions are only open to primary dealers, while Johannesburg Stock Exchange members can participate in inflation-linked bond auctions, both are conducted via Bloomberg’s auction system. Anyone who is registered to participate via the issuing agent’s money market auction system (MMIS) may participate in the Treasury bill auctions.

Bond and Treasury bill auctions are conducted weekly; the calendars are available on this site. The auction announcements and results can be obtained from the South African Reserve Bank website through the link provided.
